The Appalachian Trail...
The Appalachian Trail (AT) is a 2,175-mile Appalachian National Scenic Trail. The trail traverses Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina and Georgia. While the section declared a National Scenic Trail only includes a few yards on each side of the trail, it covers an amazing 250,000-acre area as it follows the Appalachian Mountains near the Eastern coast of the United States.
I plan to thru-hike (backpack from one terminus to the other) the AT after graduating college in 2007.
